What is Transform 220?

On November 5, 2024, voters in the Barrington 220 community passed a $64 million bond referendum. Thanks to the community's support, the district will have the opportunity to:

  • Increase safety & security throughout Barrington 220
  • Enhance STEAM and instructional spaces for students
  • Build a new community auditorium at Barrington High School

Barrington 220 is excited to begin working on these projects that will further secure our buildings, inspire academic achievement, and create new opportunities in the arts. The district is working with DLA Architects and Pepper Construction to complete the projects. The timeline for construction is divided into three phases over the span of approximately four years:

  • Design: time needed to review concepts, produce construction documents, and receive authorization from the Board to release for bidding

  • Bid: time needed for prospective bidders to get drawings, estimate and submit bids for the design, and the construction team to analyze and formulate recommendations for Board approval

  • Build: time needed to award contracts, purchase materials, construct, and once completed, turn over the facility to the school district to occupy.
