Fifth Grade Basketball
Barrington School District 220 currently intends to conduct practices and/or host games during the 2020-2021 basketball season. Pursuant to Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and Illinois High School Association (IHSA) guidelines, basketball is considered a high risk sport if intra-team scrimmages and games are allowed. IDPH and IHSA guidance allows for there to be intra-team scrimmages and games, with parental consent.  If your chlld is interested in participating, please complete this form.

We are presently in the winter assessment window.  This window has been extended to the end of the month from an original date of February 19.

In-Person learners will assess at school. Distance learners will assess remotely unless parents specifically request to assess in-person. You can make this request by contacting the principal. One consideration for this is new qualification for extended services. Please see our assessment coordinator's letter linked below.

Social Emotional Health

Parents, at no other time is social emotional health more important to our school community than right now.  We want to make sure that you know how to access support at any time throughout the year. The document linked here is meant to assist you with this.

Important Information about Reading

The Teachers’ College Reading and Writing Project (TCRWP), creators of our reading and writing programs, have developed numerous videos for families and caregivers to bring more joy into literacy learning. They draw on numerous years of experience and research in providing ideas for supporting reading and writing at home. We will highlight a few videos each week in upcoming newsletters, and encourage parents and caregivers to listen or watch these short videos. To access all videos created by TCRWP and additional resources, please refer to this link.
