Board names Referendum Advisory Committee chairpersons
At a special board meeting on Friday, Sept. 28, the Board of Education approved four community members to serve as chairpersons for the newly created Referendum Advisory Committee. The group includes: Tom Burns, Jeff Church, Cara Richardson and Brad Stetson. They will lead the four upcoming committee meetings, scheduled for Oct. 8, Oct. 22, Oct. 29 and Nov. 12. During these meetings, the committee will review the Blueprint 220 master-facilities plan, which the Board approved earlier this month. The committee will then provide feedback in November, to help the Board determine which parts of the master plan to include in a potential referendum question on the April 2019 general election ballot. The committee is made up of representatives from more than 50 community organizations. It will also include three at-large positions. The chairpersons will be non-voting members of the Committee.
