Dear Barrington 220 Community:
Tuesday, Sept. 25 will mark Day 2 of Barrington 220 Safety Week, which runs Sept. 24-28. The goal is to raise awareness about school safety among our students, parents, staff and community members.
At the beginning of the school day, all students will view a one minute video that has a "Safety 220 Tip of the Day". Tuesday's tip corresponds with the safety theme for the day, which is Active Shooter Situation. In addition to a safety tip for students, the video also has one tip for parents. Click here to view the video. This video will only be shown to students in grades 3-12.
In addition to daily videos, all schools are participating in various safety activities throughout the week. On the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 25 (weather permitting) Barrington High School plans to hold a safety drill that will involve students evacuating the school. As a result, Main Street in front of the high school will be temporarily blocked off by emergency vehicles. PLEASE NOTE, THIS IS JUST A DRILL.
On Tuesday, Sept. 25 Barrington 220 is also partnering with Barrington Police and Fire to host a School Safety Community Night. The event will begin at 7pm in the BHS auditorium. All community members are encouraged to attend.
