Stingray Field Day

Stingray Field Day:  Monday, May 22, 2017 (rain date May 24)

We have a few new activities planned for this year.  The  third, fourth and fifth grade students will have a full day and kindergarten through second grades will have a half day of activities in the morning (afternoon for PM kdg.)  Kdg.-2nd grade teachers have something exciting planned for them in the afternoon.  Finally, Heinen’s has generously donated Edy’s Fruit Bars for all students.  We are grateful for their generous donation.

Some important items for May 22nd:

  • Make sure to dress your child appropriately!

  • Apply sunscreen before school.  Only 3rd,  4th  and 5th grade students may bring sunscreen to school to re-apply at lunch.  Bug lotion/wipes are recommended too. Please make sure it is lotion, NO AEROSOL SPRAY please.

  • NO WATER BOTTLES.  Water will be supplied throughout the day.  There will be water stations set up throughout the rotation where the students can stay hydrated.   There will also be opportunities to use the restrooms and water fountains.

  • Please wear your grade level t-shirts! 5th-purple, 4th-blue, 3rd-green, 2nd-yellow, 1st-orange, kdg.-red

Barrington Giving Day

For the first time, Rose School will participate in Barrington Giving Day's Back-to-School Event for gently-used School Supplies.  Instead of having your children bring home their used school supplies on the last day of school, we will have collection bins set up in the pods from now through the end of the year.  All Rose children will participate in this effort unless you "Opt Out" by sending the attached form back to your child's teacher by today, May 19th.  A flyer was sent out in your child's backpack last week as well.

This district-wide effort will benefit many families at the Back-to-School Event in August.  In addition, there is a recycling effort through Crayola Colorcycle and the Crayon Initiative.  What a wonderful way to give back to our community and our environment.  Thank You, Rose School!

Relay for Life

WHAT IS RELAY FOR LIFE?

Relay is a team fundraising event where team members take turns walking around a track or designated path. Each event is 6-24 hours in length and each team is asked to have a member on the track at all times to signify that cancer never sleeps. Cancer patients don't stop because they're tired, and for one night, neither do we.

Each team sets up a themed campsite at the event and continues their fundraising efforts by collecting donations for food, goods, games, and activities. This money will count towards their overall team fundraising goal.

Back to School Picnic

SAVE THE DATE!

As we near the end of the 2016-17 school year,  it is time for Rose School families that will be returning for the 2017-18 school year to "save the date" for the Back to School Meet and Greet at Rose School on Sunday, August 20th from 2-5 pm. LET'S CELEBRATE THE START OF ANOTHER GREAT SCHOOL YEAR!!!!!!

Volunteers are needed for the day. It is a great way for high school and middle school students to earn service hours. Adult volunteers are also needed to help make this event a success! Please contact Zeenat Parveen at alamzeenat@aol.com to volunteer, if interested.
