The goal of theTastyTuesday program is to "encourage sustainable healthy lifestyle choices in our school community." The more kids taste healthy food choices, the more likely they will try them again at home.
TastyTuesdays are currently scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month and are expected to continue on Tuesday, May 13th when students will taste Melon! Make sure to ask your child what they had for snack time.
Please join fellow PTO members from across the District as they network and share ideas to help make your time volunteering as effective as possible. Whether you're new to your position or just looking for some new ideas, we have sessions for you!
Who: All PTO Board Members & Chairs, and potential PTO members
At its April 17 meeting, the Board of Education scheduled three meetings in May to seek community feedback about the Blueprint 220initiative. For the past few months, the board has been working to refine a draft master-facilities plan, based on feedback received from the Blueprint 220 Core Team and community meetings last fall.
Now the Board would like to share what it has been working on and get more feedback from the community. Details on the format of the meetings will be made available in the next few weeks. In the meantime, please mark your calendars for the following dates:

Blessings in a Backpack
Looking to get involved to help a need in our community? Want to finish your day knowing that you've helped a hungry child? Then please volunteer to help fill bags of food for our school district's Blessings in a Backpack program. Blessings in a Backpack provides food for school children who may otherwise have little or no food to eat on weekends during the school year. Better test scores, improved reading skills, positive behavior, improved health and increased attendance have all been attributed to this program.
Every Thursday 9-10 a.m., all the elementary schools in our district get together at Sunny Hill Elementary to help pack bags in assembly-line fashion. Some volunteers may also take bags back to district schools and deliver to the front office. Hope you can make time to help feed a child!
For more information, check out the Blessings in a Backpack National Site. The last day for this school year is Thursday, May 17th.
