Parents, please read the attachment regarding helping Lines fight cold, flu, and other germs! In the attachment you will find some reminders we'd like you to share with your children and some reminders for you regarding when your children are sick.

Do you have a 5th grader headed to Station next year?

Make sure you have the Parent Information Night on your calendar. April 5, come to Station (parents only) to get an introduction to the school. From 6-7, explore the activity fair and get more information on what's available to you and your students. Then attend a presentation by Dr. Winkelman and get a tour of the school from our Student Ambassadors.

Make sure to order your incoming 6th grade t-shirt now. Students wear the shirts showing whether they'll attend Station or Prairie to school on Friday April 7 and again when they visit Station on the field trip to the middle school. This $10 t-shirt gets picked up at Station on the parent night (or arrange for a friend to get it for you). Order here (https://barrington220.revtrak.net/tek9.asp?pg=products&grp=87) or fill out the form and return your check to the Station office. Orders are due by March 20.

Come learn about the school and PTO. Parents with incoming 6th graders are invited to our PTO meeting at 9:15am on Tuesday, April 11. Light snacks and coffee will be served. This is another chance to learn about the school and how you can get involved.

Looking to get involved at Station? There are plenty of opportunities to volunteer, and you can indicate your interest when you register in May. The PTO has opportunities in and out of school to get involved.

Questions? Reach out to the Station PTO president Michelle Price at michelle-price@comcast.net.

Got2Run

May, May 20!

Place: Downtown Arlington Heights

Save the date for the fifth annual Got2Run for Education. This is a fun, exciting 2.62 mile mini marathon or 8k run/walk in beautiful downtown Arlington Heights. A sizable portion of each registration fee comes back to Lines School for our wellness initiatives. Last year, Lines School received a check for $1058.75, largely due to a huge turnout of Lines Families and Staff.

We had over 70 registered participants.

This year, we would love to break the 100 participant mark! This is a great event to cap off our Running Club season and school year! Please check out the website, http://www.got2run.org for details.

Checkout out the flyer for more details.

5th Grade parents it's time to start thinking about Memory Night (date to be announced soon)!

The Memory Night Team needs your help for the 5th Grade Video. We are asking that each family contribute up to 5 photos of your child (group shots are best) at school activities such as class parties, Timberlee, Field Trips, school events etc. We are looking for pictures from Kindergarten through 5th grade. School events only. Pictures from private events (such as birthday parties) will not be accepted.

In addition to the group pictures, we plan to show each child's Kindergarten school picture along with their 5th grade picture. If your child did not attend Kindergarten at  Lines School, please provide us with his/her Kindergarten picture.

The deadline for photos is April 15th to the email address below. We will make sure that all children are represented equally.

Questions may also be directed to the same email address. Stay tuned for more details on this FUN Lines Tradition!

Raise Funds for Lines PTO Without Spending Another Penny

Did you remember to register (or re-register) your Heinen's loyalty card? If you shop at Heinen's, they donate up to 1% of your purchases to the school of your choice, but you have to register your loyalty card each year. Good news? If you sign up by April 1, it's retroactive for all your purchases since September 1.

Click here for more information or to register your card - http://www.heinens.com/home/tasteful-rewards/teaming-up-for-education/ (you can also visit or call Heinen’s the Customer Service desk, and they will register your card— usually your home phone number).

5th Grade Mother-Daughter Night

Calling all 5th Grade girls and their moms!

Mark your calendars for Monday, May 8th from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m., for a "girls-only" night to discuss the physical and emotional changes that are a part of growing up. Again this year, we are honored to have a guest speaker from the Robert Crown Center for Health Education who will share valuable information on the changes to come in a fun, informative and engaging way. This year's event will be held in the beautiful Barrington Area Library Meeting Room. Don't miss the chance to treat yourself and your daughter to a unique bonding experience along with fellow Lines mothers and daughters. Invitations will be sent home after Spring Break!
