Star Wars
Have a Wonderful Winter Break!

Thank you for welcoming me into the Lines community this school year! I have had a great time getting to know students, staff and families, and look forward to what the rest of the year will bring. Have a restful Winter Break and I'll see you when school resumes on Thursday, Jan. 7.

Movie Time with Dr. Hyllberg

Dr. Hyllberg would like to invite you and your family to watch Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Tuesday, Dec. 29 at 1:10 at Century 16 Theaters in Deer Park. This is not a school sponsored field trip and Lines will not be paying for tickets. Families are responsible for purchasing their own tickets and refreshments. This is a chance for some fun movie-going with your peers and their families.

Q&A with Dr. Hyllberg

Lines families are invited to an open house/Q&A with Dr. Hyllberg Jan. 13 at 9:15 a.m. in the Lines MPR. This is your chance to ask questions and get an update on all of the exciting things happening at Lines Elementary School. Coffee and Danish Kringle will be served. This event is sponsored by the Lines PTO.

Lines Students Excel in Noetic Learning Math Contest

Thirty-nine Lines students participated in The Noetic Learning Math Contest (NLMC). This is a semiannual problem solving contest for elementary and middle school students. The goal of the competition is to encourage students' interest in math to develop their problem solving skills and to inspire them to excel in math.

During the contest, students are given 45 minutes to solve 20 problems. Many problems are designed to challenge students and to enrich their problem solving experiences. Congratulations to the Lines students who took part in this competition.

Parent Pick-Up Reminders

Here are some reminders if you are picking your child up after school:
  • When waiting in the pick-up line, always pull your vehicle up as far as possible.
  • Do not get out of your vehicle to find your child; your child will come to you. If you want to get out of your vehicle, please park in the parking lot, NOT the pick-up line.
  • Students should enter into your vehicle curbside only.
  • Cell phone usage in a school zone is against the law.
  • If you are having someone else pick up your child, share our traffic procedures with them.
