BHS Fine Arts Students and Parents,

Welcome to the 2017-2018 School Year! As the director of fine, visual, and performing arts for Barrington 220, I am so happy that your family has selected to partake in our fine arts class.

As you may know, our fine arts courses at the high school are extensive, including: woodworking, BHS-TV, choir, theater, band, orchestra, dance drawing/painting, sculpture, digital and darkroom photography, metals & jewelry, ceramics, printmaking, digital arts, graphic design, AP art history, AP music theory, and AP studio art.

Occasionally, I send out important information about upcoming events and recognitions of visual and performing arts students through emails such as this one.

Also, there are several volunteer opportunities that are art-specific. If students participate, they will get volunteer hours through the school. This weekend there are two such opportunities. The Barrington Rotary needs face painters at the Barrington Area Street Fest on Saturday, August 26 in the Kids Zone. Additionally, the Barrington Area Conservation Trust also needs volunteers to paint butterflies at their concert, also on August 26.

Details about the volunteer opportunities can be found through the Sign-Up Genius Link below.

Thanks for considering helping out our community (and getting volunteer hours!), by assisting with one of these events.

Have a great first day back!

Brigid Tileston
