Meet Principal Schumacher!

At its July 17 meeting, the board of education approved the appointment of Heather Schumacher as the new principal of Barbara B. Rose Elementary. Heather replaces Derek Straight, who accepted a principal position in another school district.

Before joining Barrington 220, Heather worked as a principal at Elm Place School in North Shore School District 112. Prior to her time in District 112, Heather worked in Barrington 220 for 10 years as a summer school principal and language arts, math and social studies teacher at BMS-Station.

She earned her undergraduate degree in elementary education from Benedictine University. She also has an endorsement in gifted education from Northeastern University, as well as a master's degree in educational leadership from Concordia University.

Heather is excited to be back in Barrington 220 for the 2018-19 school year!
