New Hire

At its August 11, 2020 meeting, the Barrington 220 Board of Education approved Nate Rouse as the district's first ever Director of Equity, Race, and Cultural Diversity Initiatives.

Mr. Rouse will provide leadership regarding the development, coordination, facilitation, and delivery of diversity-related programs, services, and support for students and staff across Barrington 220. 
Rouse comes to Barrington 220 from Bartlett High School in School District U-46, where he served as dean of students. Prior to his time in U-46, he served as the first African American principal at Oak Park & River Forest High School. Rouse started his career in public education as an English teacher at West Leyden High School and also worked as an assistant principal at Highland Park High School. He holds a master's degree in teaching from Northeastern Illinois University and is currently working to obtain a doctorate in Educational Leadership at UIC.
