Roslyn wins Blue Ribbon Award

Barrington 220 is proud to announce Roslyn Road Elementary School has been named among the 362 best schools in the nation, through the U.S. Department of Education’s 2019 National Blue Ribbon Award recognition. Roslyn Road is one of only 25 schools across Illinois and 362 schools nationwide to be honored with this prestigious recognition.

Roslyn Road also earned the Blue Ribbon Award in 2013.

“I am very proud of the students, staff and parents of Roslyn Road in being recognized for a second time as a National Blue Ribbon School by the Department of Education,” said Principal Paul Kirk. “This award signifies the work of many stakeholders over multiple years. Earning the Blue Ribbon is a community effort, from the support of district personnel, to the partnership of every Roslyn household and the efforts of every student and teacher. It is a terrific honor.”

Roslyn will be honored by the U.S. Department of Education on November 14 and 15 in Washington, DC.

“We are very proud of the academic accomplishment of Roslyn Road Elementary School to win the US Department of Education - Blue Ribbon Award for the second time in five years,” said Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Brian Harris. “The students benefit from the outstanding staff and supportive parents, which results in excellence that occurs each day in our classrooms.”

For 37 years the Department of Education has bestowed this coveted award on more than 9,000 American schools. National Blue Ribbon Schools represent the full diversity of American schools: public schools, including charter schools, magnet/choice schools, Title I schools, and non-public schools, including parochial and independent schools.
