Madrigals
The Barrington High School Madrigal ensembles have been highly sought after in the Barrington community for decades. The Madrigal singers perform in a wide variety of venues throughout the holiday season each year spreading the holiday spirit throughout town. There are currently over 50 students in the madrigal program which includes two performing ensembles and an advanced mixed octet. All three ensembles perform music of the renaissance, including motets, as well as arrangements of traditional holiday carols.

Muslim Students' Association
MSA is a club that promotes the culture of Islam while touching upon common issues and topics a Muslim may deal with today. There are numerous events that people may participate in allowing everyone to enjoy while learning something new about Islam.

National Honor Society
You excel. You serve. You lead. You succeed. You have a true thirst for challenge … and accomplishment. Membership in the National Honor Society (NHS) may be an ideal fit for you! Students who meet the scholarship requirement will have an opportunity to complete an application detailing their accomplishments in and commitment to service, leadership, and character in the spring of the student's junior year. The selection process concludes with induction into the Barrington High School National Honor Society in the fall of their junior year. Nuance Literary Magazine
Nuance is our high school's literary arts magazine. We accept submissions of any medium of art and any genre of writing. Submission info and deadlines can be found on our website: bhsnuance.weebly.com/submit. We meet weekly during the school year as a staff to go over submissions and eventually lay out and publish a magazine. You do not have to be a staff member of the magazine to submit work, and you do not have to submit work if you are staff member (but you can do both!). We also have student leaders, our editorial team, that oversees the publication and production of our magazine.

RC Club
RC Club is a blend of a fun, exciting environment and advanced STEM material. Throughout recent years, RC, drones/multi rotors in particular, is advancing rapidly and its popularity is increasing worldwide (you might have even seen drone racing on ESPN). Our club’s goal is to spread this relatively new, high tech hobby throughout our community and to provide a brand new form of STEM education and also to allow anyone to compete with our drone racing team (piloting micro drones at over 55 miles per hour!). Join us on Fridays after school: we hold friendly races (micro (55mph) and full size (110mph)), fpv freestyle competitions, virtual racing nights, group builds, cinematography days, and more!

Reality Club

Scholastic Bowl
The scholastic bowl team plays a variety of interscholastic events, starting as early as late September. There are several Saturday tournaments throughout the fall. Starting in January, we play a conference schedule with Tuesday and/or Thursday meets after school, culminating in the conference finals in February, and state playoffs in March. At conference meets, we field a varsity and JV team, while most Saturday tournaments involve us fielding as many teams as we can put together to minimize the need for subs!

Science Olympiad
Science Olympiad is a team of students who compete in a variety of science related events at local invitationals, a regional, and state tournament against other high schools. Students work in pairs to prepare for events assigned based on interest. Events range from building projects, to studying for tests or laboratory exercises. Service Over Seas Club
Share OverSeas is a charity club whose mission is to empower youth leaders to help others around the world locally and globally. We have conducted fundraisers, made blankets for Syrian refugees, attended Feed my Starving Children, helped kids in the hospital, and more. Our goal is to create philanthropic leaders at a young age. You can earn volunteer hours each month.

Sophomore Class Board
Come Join Sophomore Class Board! We are an hands-on and fun-filled way for you to develop leadership skills while giving back to your class, BHS, and the wider Barrington Community. Activities include building our annual homecoming float, serving up great food at Barrington Stadium's Chuck Wagon concession stand during the football season, adopting a family for the holidays, packing food for Feed My Starving Children, raising funds for a host of local charities, supporting Relay For Life, organizing supply drives and making blankets for local animal shelters, and having loads of fun in the process. So bring your friends and join us on Tuesdays after school. New members are always welcome at any point in the year.

Spanish Honor Society
Students eligible for membership must currently be enrolled in an Honors Spanish course. They must also have maintained a 3.7 GPA in all Honors Spanish courses taken for at least three consecutive high school semesters. Students should have also demonstrated character, leadership, seriousness of purpose, cooperation, honesty, service, and commitment to others.

Spotlight Production
The Spotlight production is designed to showcase Freshmen visual, fine, and performing arts students. This show is in the style of a variety show, where students are welcome to audition as a singer, actor/actress, dancer, instrumentalist, or visual artist. Students selected for the production may perform as a soloist or in a small group setting.
The production will take place over the course of two nights. The shows take place in the blackbox theater during the month of October. Tickets will go on sale approximately two weeks before the production.
Once the cast is selected, students will be assigned a mentor to work with in preparation of the performances. They will also work with Mr. Pemberton to produce a well-polished show.Meetings:

STEM Research Team
The Barrington STEM Research Team is an academic research club that enables scientific exploration at BHS through mentorship panels- in the form of relevant teachers & field experts, experimentation equipment & housing, and reasonable funding. The club is meant to develop the skills necessary to conduct independent and original research with opportunities in competing (at several local and national science fairs) and publishing findings. Come join us on Thursdays after school to hear some of the cool projects our students have pursued and dive in yourself!

Student Council
Student Council is comprised of 80 students and two faculty advisors who work together under our constitution to create connections, provide leadership opportunities, and coordinate events for the school and community. Our main task for the year is organizing the Homecoming dance, pep assembly, parade, coronation, and spirit days, but we spend the rest of the year on a myriad of activities that promote school and community welfare.

Student Mentors
Student Mentors serve a critical leadership role to help Advisors facilitate the Advisory curriculum with freshmen. This is an outstanding leadership opportunity for juniors and seniors. Mentors earn .25 credit on their transcript each semester. Mentors also help during evening programs like Back to School Night. They also lead their group during Freshman Orientation before the school year begins. Mentors are important role models for younger students promoting strong school and community citizenship.

Ultimate Frisbee Club
This is a diverse co-ed club where students love to participate, play, compete and enjoy Ultimate Frisbee. All students that join the team are very passionate about the sport and really enjoy the experiences that Ultimate Frisbee offers. No previous experience is required and everyone is welcome to join us! We start the season in mid-April (weather permitting). Practice is on Tuesdays although most players meet more than once throughout the week to practice and have a great time. League games are on Wednesdays from 4:30 PM to 7:15 PM at the Stuart Sports Complex in Montgomery, IL. On Wednesdays the bus leaves promptly at 3:30 PM.

Our club raises money for UNICEF in a variety of ways. UNICEF is the United Nations Children’s Fund, working in the world’s toughest places to reach the most disadvantaged children and adolescents – and to protect the rights of every child, everywhere.

Photojournalism is a two-semester application course designed to help students learn, understand, and apply the steps to publish The Corral. Students will master skills required to be successful in reporting, writing, design, and photography. This course will help enable you to produce grammatically correct documents, write feature articles, and design aesthetically pleasing spreads fit for publication. As the sole historians and student photographers for the school, yearbook members bear the responsibility of accurately covering the school year, as well as creating a contemporary publication that will be enjoyable and relevant to our community for years to come.
