This is Dr. Hyllberg's 3rd year as Lines' principal and 25th year in public education. Before coming to Lines, Dr. Hyllberg was the principal at Elementary East in Woodland School District 50 and at Indian Hill Elementary School in Round Lake School District 116. Before becoming an administrator, he was an elementary teacher for 11 years in Wisconsin.
Dr. Hyllberg is an avid sports fan, especially for the Chicago Cubs and Duke Blue Devils. He enjoys reading, jogging, riding his recumbent bicycle and motorcycle, and watching movies. He thoroughly enjoys Dunkin Donuts coffee and McDonald's Diet Coke in a styrofoam cup.
Arnett C. Lines Elementary School has been in the Barrington community since 1969. Lines serves approximately 455 students in kindergarten through 5th grade. Lines has a variety of support services available to our students, including reading resource, extended services (gifted), speech and language therapy, English Language Learning support, special education resource classes, occupational therapy, and adaptive PE. This year Lines hosts Barrington's unique Dual Language program in the 3rd and 4th grades.
The summer of 2017 is very exciting because Lines is getting a new gym floor, mostly due to the generous donation of $80,000 from the Lines PTO! In addition to the new floor, the Lines gym is being painted, the library is getting new carpeting, and the office is being updated. It is an exciting time to be a Lines Lion!
The amazing Lines staff effectively collaborates with their grade level service providers. They continuously strive to provide a professional learning environment for their students. The staff understands best practice strategies and differentiates instruction to meet the individual needs of our students.
