ACT-SAT Prep Program
The Barrington High School ACT-SAT Preparation Program offers review courses for juniors to accommodate the large number of students taking college entrance exams for the first time. The program includes two eight-week sessions: one winter, one spring. Each session includes classes in English & Reading Comprehension and Math & Science Reasoning. The classes provide 16 hours of intensive review in each subject area and include test-taking strategies, using practice ACT and SAT samples. A student may register for one or both subject reviews in either the winter or the spring session. The cost, including materials, is $200.00 for one course or $400.00 for both courses. The program is designed to prepare juniors to take an ACT and/or an SAT offered in the early or late spring. Test dates can be found by accessing the ACT-SAT Exam Dates link below. Test prep curriculum details and requirements are outlined in the Program Overview, which can be downloaded by clicking on the respective link below. Registration forms for both winter and spring sessions can also be downloaded and printed by clicking on the respective link below. Program confirmations and classroom assignments are emailed to both parents and students in December before the Winter Break. It is important to regularly check your e-mail messages, as Barrington 220 moves to paperless communications. In the event of inclement weather, such as a snow day, please note the following: if school is closed, prep classes will not meet; if co-curricular activities and athletics are cancelled, prep classes will not meet. Communication to parents and students will be made by phone and email via the Infinite Campus Emergency Messaging system; messages will also be left on the ACT-SAT Hotline at (847) 756-2438, and the BHS web site. (Make-up weeks will be scheduled as time permits at the end of the program calendar.)
