Project Details
Our community’s plan for our school district will appear on our ballots for final approval in the upcoming November 5 election. If successful, this $64 million referendum will allow the district to:
- Increase Safety & Security throughout Barrington 220
- Build a New Community Auditorium at Barrington High School
- Enhance STEAM and Instructional Spaces for Students
Details
- Safety & Security: This includes lockdown features throughout the district and utilizing keycard access to provide a more secure
environment for students and teachers.
- New community auditorium at Barrington High School: This new, larger, and safer auditorium will be a modern, accessible space with current technology that will accommodate performing arts education, PK-12+ school events, and expanded community rentals. Click here to view the floor plan for BHS.
- STEAM Labs: This includes new, larger rooms for teaching STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) courses at Barrington High School, providing optimized learning spaces for collaboration, hands on instruction, and modern programming.
- Middle School Science Classrooms: This includes modernized science lab classrooms at our two middle schools to effectively implement current and future curriculum.
- Fine Arts Classrooms: This includes improved fine arts, visual arts, performing arts, applied arts, music, and career pathways at Barrington High School as well as increased arts programming and opportunities for students. This includes an updated digital photo lab, and drawing and painting classrooms that will improve instructional flexibility.
- Music Rooms: New, larger spaces with improved auditory well-being for each ensemble, allowing for additional opportunities for small section and combination group ensembles, with added storage for instruments and uniforms.
- Mechanical Systems: This includes a safer, updated, and more energy-efficient high school building through replacing aging mechanical systems that are beyond their useful life.
- Windows, Doors & Flooring: This includes safer and more energy-efficient doors and windows at schools, and improved flooring.
- Fine Arts Programming Enhancements: This includes increased arts programming and opportunities for students, a maker space, a career pathways building addition, and gallery collaborative workspaces.
