The Barrington 220 School District proudly serves approximately 8,000 students from all or parts of Barrington, Barrington Hills, Carpentersville, Deer Park, Fox River Grove, Hoffman Estates, Inverness, Lake Barrington, North Barrington, Port Barrington, South Barrington, and Tower Lakes.
Nestled within this 72-square-mile boundary area sits our early learning center, eight elementary schools, two middle school campuses, one high school, and a transition center for special education students who are 18-22 years old. These schools represent a place for our students to create, practice advocacy and empathy, collaborate, exhibit initiative and self-drive, think critically and solve problems, and communicate effectively.
“Lead Your Learning”, our theme for the 2026-2027 school year, reflects Barrington 220’s commitment to learner agency: empowering students to take an active role in their educational journey. Rather than viewing learning as something that simply happens to them, students and staff are encouraged to develop voice, choice, ownership, and responsibility in how they learn, grow, and contribute. This theme highlights our belief that when individuals are given meaningful opportunities to set goals, make decisions, reflect on their progress, and pursue their interests, they become more engaged, confident, and prepared for life beyond the classroom. “Lead Your Learning” is more than a slogan; it represents a district-wide mindset that values curiosity, independence, collaboration, and the development of lifelong learners who are equipped to lead both their own futures and positively impact the world around them.
