PUNS is a statewide waiting list for individuals with developmental disabilities who may need funding for services either now or in the future. Children as young as 2.5 years old, teens, and adults can enroll in PUNS when they have been diagnosed with a developmental disability. There can be a long wait before someone is selected for funding so we encourage you not to wait!

LOCATION: BHS Front Atrium (Lower Level) 

The Barrington 220 Board of Education's 2024 Referendum Advisory Committee will assist the Board in identifying key components to be included in a referendum question proposed for the November 5, 2024 election ballot. The 2024 Referendum Advisory Committee will make a final recommendation to the Board of Education by the June 4, 2024 Board of Education meeting. The final decision of what will be asked on a potential referendum question rests with the Board. If the Board decides to place a referendum question on the November 2024 ballot, it must approve the question in August 2024.

The committee consists of approximately 60 members representing all district attendance areas and grade levels, as well as members of local Barrington community organizations. 

Meetings are open to the public, however, only committee members may participate and vote.

Pursuant to School Board Policy 2:150, the Board of Education may establish committees to assist with the Board's governance function and, in some situations, to comply with state law requirements. Each committee reports directly to the Board of Education. Committee members may include both Board Members and non-Board Members depending on the committee's purpose. Committee appointments are made at the organization meeting of the Board that is held following the consolidated election in April of odd numbered years. Committee meetings are typically held once per month. The purpose of the Finance Committee is to review the district budget, financial projections and other important financial documents and reports.

All regular Board of Education meetings are held on Tuesday evenings, beginning with a Closed Session at 5:30 p.m., immediately followed by Open Session at 6:30 p.m. Unless otherwise noted, the meetings will take place at the District Administrative Center, 515 West Main Street, Barrington, Illinois. All Board meetings are live-streamed on the Board's YouTube channel.

Please join us for a virtual Family Engagement Event, Barrington 220 Extended Services on Monday, May 13, 2024 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. 

During this virtual session, Jordan Anderson, Director of Learning Services, will discuss Extended Services offered in the Barrington 220 School District. Please sign up if you plan to attend. A Zoom link will be sent to you on the day of the event. A recording will be sent to all registrants following the completion of the event.

Each committee reports directly to the Board of Education. Committee members may include both Board Members and non-Board Members depending on the committee's purpose. Committee appointments are made at the organization meeting of the Board that is held following the consolidated election in April of odd numbered years. Committee meetings are typically held once per month. The purpose of the Policy Committee is to review existing policies, recommend changes where necessary, and propose new policies for consideration by the Board.

Please join Barrington 220 and the Barrington 220 Educational Foundation for an open house inside the new culinary arts lab at Barrington High School! The new space was made possible by the $147 million referendum that Barrington area voters approved in March 2020. 

The Educational Foundation granted the district $111,000 to fund equipment, supplies, and other materials to develop a BHS Culinary Internship Program. The program will teach students professional culinary skills and techniques such as proper knife use, food safety, menu planning, cooking techniques, and more. Students will also learn about front-of-the-house operations like staffing, hospitality management, the economics of food, and marketing.

"The Barrington Transition Program provides young adults the opportunity to continue their education beyond Barrington High School and build upon their education/training, employment, and daily living skills. BTP is truly an amazing, unique program that offers authentic and meaningful experiences through community based instruction. It focuses on building confidence through real-world application of skills. Our BTP team ensures there is an intentional and targeted focus on self-advocacy and independence.  I am incredibly excited about the work we are doing and am continually inspired by our students and staff!"
