One to World Mission

The Barrington 220 One to World program supports the District’s Mission to Empower personal excellence in every learner.

One to World Vision

The Barrington 220 One to World program provides learning tools to allow students to engage in the personal success skills outlined in our Learner Profile. A Barrington 220 learner collaborates; communicates effectively; creates; exhibits initiative and self-drive; practices advocacy and empathy; and thinks critically and solves problems.

About the Program

The Barrington 220 One to World program is a learning initiative that integrates 24/7 availability of technology devices, provides ubiquitous access to the Internet, and delivers a set of apps and services for teaching and learning to all students and staff. The program began as a pilot during the 2013–14 school year. Full high school implementation was completed in 2014–15, full middle school implementation was completed in 2015–16, and full PK–5 implementation was completed in 2016–17.

Currently all Barrington 220 students use the Apple iPad as their primary learning device. Specialized classes at Barrington High School—such as coding, video editing, some art classes, and other courses—use the Apple M1 MacBook Air in addition to the iPad.

TECH SUPPORT

Technical support for One to World devices is offered in each school’s library during school hours (including during summer school).

Parent Information

To ensure the success of the One to World program, partnerships among Barrington 220 and our parents/guardians are crucial. This section is dedicated to providing information about Internet safety outside of the district and providing resources to help parents communicate with their children about establishing boundaries when using media and online resources at home.
