Absence Procedures

Parents can report all absences via the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. This includes when students must leave campus early for an appointment or early release. Click here for directions on how to report an absence in Infinite Campus (click here for directions in Spanish). 

In the event of any absence, the student’s parent/guardian must contact the school before the start of the school day to explain the reason for the absence (this can be done by phone or via the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. When reporting an absence, you should provide the following information: 

• Student's Name
• Student’s ID Number
• Date
• Reason for absence
   

Automated attendance phone calls are made at 11 AM; reporting the absence online can prevent calls made in error. If the parent/guardian cannot be contacted, the student must submit a signed note from the parent/guardian explaining the reason for the absence when they return to school. Failure to do so shall result in an unexcused absence. Upon request of the parent/guardian, the reason for an absence will be kept confidential.

Please remember if your child is going to a medical or dental appointment, a note from the healthcare provider is required for the absence to be excused. The requested documentation can be uploaded using the Parent Portal when entering the absence, or can be brought to the attendance office upon the student's return to school.
