equity 220
The Equity 220 webpage serves as a way to provide our school community with the opportunity to gain a better understanding of our equity work in the district. Barrington 220 is focused on:
  • Eliminating racial and social equity barriers in school district educational programs, services, policies, and practices
  • Creating and maintaining an environment of diversity, inclusion, and respect both in our school system and in all aspects of our school community
  • Ensuring that we are reaching and engaging disenfranchised people in our schools and community and helping them express their voice

Revised Danielson Framework & Equity

Since 2011, Barrington 220 has used a research-validated evaluation tool called the Danielson Framework for teacher observation, evaluation, and development. The Danielson Framework was developed by acclaimed educator Charlotte Danielson. It is used as a teacher evaluation tool in many school districts across the country.

In 2022, the Danielson Group revised its framework to reflect new research and feedback from educators in the field. The revised framework further advances principles of equity and social-emotional learning concepts. Barrington 220 has implemented the revised evaluation tool for the 2023-24 school year.
