Get to know Principal Ernst

We are excited to welcome Zach Ernst as the new principal of Hough Street Elementary! Principal Ernst comes to Barrington 220 from Naperville District 203, where he served as the assistant principal of Scott Elementary School for three years. He also previously taught third and fifth grade in District 203. Principal Ernst holds two master’s degrees, one in curriculum and instruction from North Central College and another in educational leadership from the American College of Education. He received his bachelor’s degree from North Central College, where he studied elementary education.

What city do you currently live in? Tell us about your family.
I live in Wheaton with my wife Courtney and my daughter Parker. Courtney is a hair stylist in Wheaton. Parker loves to play outside, read with mom and dad and eat ice cream!

I love to golf, read and play with my daughter.

I would like to play a golf course in each of the 50 states.

What are you most looking forward to as Hough principal?
I am most looking forward to getting to know the students and families and having the opportunity to see all of those students grow academically, socially, and emotionally while they are at Hough Street.
