Prospective student teachers must complete an online application.
Applicants must upload the following documents when completing the online application:
- A letter of request for placement from the university
- All applicable transcripts
- A personal data sheet or resume
An initial pool of candidates will be selected and names will be shared with the building principals and cooperating teachers. An interview process may take place prior to any placement. Student teachers who are accepted must complete the following before starting their student teaching in the district:
- Proof of a negative TB test report completed within the last six months (only if the person will be working with early childhood)
- A fingerprint background check completed by the Human Resource Office
- A signed confidentiality form
- Verification of viewing mandatory presentation
- Attend district level orientation
