Deputy Superintendent
As Deputy Superintendent, Dr. Craig Winkelman leads all 220 initiatives (Build 220, Equity 220, Framework 220 and Safety 220), supervises and evaluates all principals, tracks policy updates for the Board of Education, leads district leadership meetings and works closely with community organizations as a strategic partner.
Dr. Winkelman has spent most of his career in education at Barrington 220, previously serving as a Special Education Teacher at Barrington High School, the Assistant Principal at Station Middle School, Principal of Station Middle School and Assistant Superintendent for Operations & K-12 Schools. He holds a bachelor's degree in Special Education from Illinois State University, a master's degree in Educational Administration from Northern Illinois University and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from National Louis University.
Dr. Winkelman resides in the Barrington area with his wife Amy, who works at BHS. They have two daughters, one who attends Auburn University and the other is a student at BHS.
