Using ParentSquare
Barrington 220 uses ParentSquare to communicate important messages via email, text, and app notifications. In the 2025-2026 school year, we are limiting this to Board of Education, superintendent, and district-level communications, along with extracurricular activities and athletics at BHS.
ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent, using their preferred email address and phone number. We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified.
Here’s what you can do with ParentSquare:
-
Receive messages from the school via email, text, or app notification
-
Choose to receive information as it comes or all at once with a daily digest at 6:00 p.m.
-
Communicate in your preferred language
-
Participate in group messages
Important: Adults and students DO NOT need the app to use ParentSquare. They can access it from a computer to utilize two-way features, or, simply just receive one-way messages through it.

StudentSquare
StudentSquare is a communications app that can be downloaded to a BHS student's district-issued device, or, if their parents/guardians wish, their personal device. Again, it is not necessary for the student to receive the communication from a coach/sponsor.
