    Course Title: Physical Education - Senior Leaders

     
    Course Description:
    This course is senior leadership practicum experience in teaching.  The students will use the skills and basic knowledge they acquired in the junior leaders course and apply it to a classroom setting.  The students will assist the teacher with equipment, warm-up exercises, fitness testing and officiating team sports. The senior leader will be a role model and mentor for students to follow.  The senior leader will carry out the expectations set forth by the teacher and the Physical Education department.  Students will have the opportunity to lead small and large group activities.  This experience will also involve senior leadership meeting as an opportunity to share class experiences, brainstorm leadership issues and discuss leadership techniques.  Both individual and teacher evaluations will be discussed each quarter and students will rotate to a new teacher each quarter.  This is an opportunity to apply leadership skills in the teaching environment.
