General PTO Information

  • The Countryside PTO is a Parent Teacher Organization. It is a non-profit organization supported by parent volunteers. The purpose of the Countryside PTO is to work in the best interests of the children, to promote understanding and cooperation between parents and teachers, and to initiate and encourage ideas and activities in the interest of Countryside School. The PTO provides funding for school programming, resources, and technology that are not paid for by the district and also tries to provide a sense of community through all school, family oriented events.

     
    In the past, the PTO has funded the following:
    • Smart Boards for each classroom
    • Document Cameras for each teacher
    • Literacy Library
    • Staff development and training
    • Microphone systems for classrooms
    • Sound panels for multi-purpose rooms
    • Fitness Trail
    • Shuttle buses for PTO events
    • Staff requests ranging from replacing gym equipment, to ISAT prep materials, to classroom learning resources
    • Teacher allowances to purchase school supplies
    • Memory Garden and grounds beautification

    The PTO organizes and underwrites all or part of the following programs:
    • Back to School Social
    • Assemblies
    • Fifth Grade Recognition
    • Field Day
    • Enrichment Program
    • Reading Encouragement Program
    • Teacher Appreciation Week
    • Hospitality and meals for staff during conferences
    • Newsletter/Yearbook
    • Cultural Art Fair
    • Visiting Author
    • Countryside Committed Week

    In order to support these purchases and programming, it is necessary to do fundraising. Some of our fundraisers include:
    • Wrapping Paper Sales
    • Spirit Sales
    • Book Fairs
    • Gift Cards
    • Box Tops
    • Shopping Rebates- Amazon Smiles/Heinen's
    • Annual Dinner Dance
    • Dine-N-Share

    Participation in any of these fundraisers is always optional. We appreciate the support of our Countryside families. We could not provide these services and contributions to the school without your generosity. We are always open to new ideas and new volunteers, so please feel free to contact any of our Executive Committee Members.
