Events run by the Rose PTO include:

    • Back to School Meet & Greet - The first event to kick off the new school year where families can meet each other and Principal Schumacher while enjoying some fun activities and food.
    • Family Fun Night - An amazing night of games, prizes, silent auction, and food.  This is one of the most popular events at Rose! Kids look forward to this evening event that runs in the fall.
    • Multicultural Night - An amazing night celebrating Barbara Rose’s diverse culture.  20 countries were represented with booths to taste food, see artifacts and clothing from around the world.  A talent show showcased fashion, dance, and music from several different countries.
    • Fall and Spring Book Fairs - We raised a significant amount of funds and provided books to our teachers for their classroom.
    • Parents Night Out Social - All involved planned a great night of food, dancing, silent and live auctions.  Over $20,000 was raised from the event as well as other fundraising sources associated with the event.   We raised these funds to replace our basketball system as well as other needs throughout the school that students can now enjoy for many years to come.
    • Rose Goes Out - The community provided funds back to our school just for shopping at their stores.  Many creative ideas have been used the past couple years such as Evereve, Donut Drive and Fall Fest tickets from Goebbert’s, Flower Power fundraiser, Yard Signs, and many more.
    • Tasty Tuesdays - The second Tuesday of every month students were given the opportunity to try fruits and vegetables prepared for them during lunch hour.
    • Bus Driver Appreciation - A special afternoon at school to thank our bus drivers for taking good care of our kiddos!  The Stingray Singers provided musical entertainment and each driver left with a small token of our appreciation.
    • 5th grade Parent/Child Events - A special time to connect parent to child as they prepare to leave elementary school and head off to middle school.
    • PTO REACH - GIves opportunities to reach out to the community through Blessings in a Backpack every Thursday and Barrington Giving Day in December.
    • Teacher Appreciation Week - The first week in May is a time to tangibly show our appreciation to all our wonderful teachers.  We offered the teachers sweet treats, gift cards, taco bar lunch, and other special gifts.
    • Ice Cream Social - This fun end of the year event coincides with Spring Book Fair.  A DJ played dance music while families enjoyed ice cream and fruit bars.  A face painter added to the festivities.
    • Stingray Day/Field Day - Nearly 80 parent volunteers came to school to help our kids celebrate the end of the year with various game stations put together by our teachers. Everyone enjoys this fun-filled day!
