The design phase for BMS-Prairie Campus took place between May 2020-November 2020. At the August 11, 2020 Board of Education meeting, the Board viewed conceptual designs for additions at BMS-Prairie, which will replace the mobile classrooms on campus. During the summer of 2020 Prairie teachers and administrators presented the plans to a group of parents and some Board members, which you can view in the video below.
The Bid phase at Prairie took place from November 2020-February 2021. At its Feb. 2, 2021 meeting, the Board of Education approved bids for referendum projects at BMS-Prairie and BMS-Station. The construction bids came in lower than expected at $15,275,444 for both schools, compared to the estimated cost of $19,431,658. An estimated total of $30 million will be spent on both middle schools, as items like safety and security and furniture are not included in the construction bids.
The Build phase at Prairie is scheduled to take place from March 2021-November 2022. Click on the graphic below to see the construction progress!
