Girls Soccer

  • History

The IHSA hosted the first state girls soccer tournament series in 1988. It didn’t take long for the Fillies to make their mark in Illinois. The 2000 Fillies, under Coach Jeff Muhr, brought home the State 3rd Place trophy. The Fillies returned to the state finals again in 2002, under Muhr, and again in 2005 with Coach Paul Keenan. The program’s second state trophy came compliments of the 2006 squad, coached by Scott Steib, that finished as State Runner-Up. Starting in 2009, under the direction of Coach Ryan Stengren, the Fillies won an amazing 11 straight IHSA Sectional Championships. During that run five state trophies came home to BHS. The Fillies won the 3rd Place trophy in 2013 and 2015. Starting in 2017 the Fillies appeared in the State Championship Game three consecutive years, winning the State Title in 2017 & 2018.
