    As of February 9, 2019, the Centers for Disease Control reports   that FLU (also known as influenza) is widespread in Illinois and the United States. The best way to prevent the flu is by vaccination (en espanol) for everyone 6 months or older. Also, practice and reinforce good health habits (en espanol) to reduce the spread of germs. These include handwashing, covering your cough with a tissue or your arm, staying home when you are sick, avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with your hands. Health is also promoted by achieveing adequate sleep, drinking plenty of water, eating nutritious food and managing your stress.
