    Attendance

    September is attendance awareness month

September is attendance awareness month for schools across the country. Barrington 220 understands the importance of having students in class every day for instructional activities. This year, we are entering the Lake County school attendance competition, where schools earn accolades based upon attendance for the month of September.  The competition amongst Lake County Schools will be based on our attendance next week, September 12-16.  Please do all you can to have your students in school to benefit from our amazing staff.

    Recycling Program (Environmental Awareness)

The students have been learning about recycling during lunch and placing their trash in the correct trash/recycling bins each day.  They have learned what goes to the landfill, what can be recycled and what can be up-cycled.  This is a learning process for all of us and will take some time to become accustom to this process. There are things that can help for those of you that pack lunch for/with your children.  Try to use containers that can be brought home and washed as opposed to using ziploc baggies.  Send students with items that are recyclable or can be up-cycled like go-go applesauce or CapriSun juice containers.
Here is our brief mission statement about the recycling program:  We the students, the staff and the families of the North Barrington School will do our part t0 keep the world clean. We will also strive to teach rest of the community what it means to reduce, reuse, recycle and rethink how it can help the environment.
