    Dear Hough Parents,

It's hard to believe that we are coming up on October conferences and Halloween! A reminder of upcoming events at Hough: Conferences (10/17-10/18) means no school on 10/18 and 10/19. The Halloween parade and parties are Wednesday, 10/31. Daddy Daughter Dance is 11/2.

A quick PTO update: the second round of Future Ready Learning orders have been placed and all the teachers/staff and students are extremely happy. The classrooms are coming together. Thank you for your generosity and donations that made this possible.

We have two PTO meetings under our belt! It was great to see new faces and such a good turnout! We look forward to seeing you all there once a month at 9:15 am at Salem! Our next meeting is Thursday, November 8th. We promise to make it as quick as possible!

The Book Fair and Family Reading Night were a success. Thank you to all who participated and volunteered. Speaking of volunteering...we have a main page for anyone and everyone to sign up and volunteer at any capacity using this linkWe greatly appreciate it!

    Have a wonderful weekend!

Cheers to 20 Years of Parents’ Time Out

On February 2nd we’ll celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Parents Time Out and we are working to make it the biggest outing yet. We’re collecting donations for our live and silent auction. Have access to a vacation home or a unique experience? Want to throw a party or event for bid? Have a connection to a local business that could donate a basket or gift certificate? Need to launder some money quickly because things have gone real sideways in Ozark? Contact Kim Grey at kcdeluca@hotmail.com or Molly Keppler at mollykeppler@hotmail.com with the information!

    Helping Hawks

No. We’re not really helping hawks. They’re predators. What we ARE doing is calling all 3rd-5th grade students to join our student service club. Join us for monthly lunch meetings to plan and DO fun service projects to help others. Meetings are on the 1st Thursday of each month. To join, please complete this form at https://goo.gl/AVrfSb Email Cami Tchoi at houghservice@gmail.com with questions.

    Vote for Hough's Astronaut Scarecrow

Community voting for the best scarecrow is in full swing and ends on Oct. 31. Everyone in the community can vote! At their November meeting, the Village Board will recognize the winning entry. (“Hey, Astronaut scarecrow. ‘Sup?”) To vote for your favorite scarecrow in town, go to www.barrington-il.gov/scarecrow.
