Family Center

This is an example of what we have done in the past years at our family center.

The family center has been a very busy place. In October we launched the STEP (Systematic Training for Effective Parenting). The workshops were held in the evening and given in Spanish. We had 25 parents come to 9 consecutive workshops and graduate from the program. Very exciting!

Also in October we had a parent-child activity. Parents came to school and with the help of their children, constructed scarecrows for fall decorations. A great time was had by all. Craft activities are a great way for parents and children to spend time together.

In December we held another parent-child activity. This time we created some wonderful photo frames to use during the upcoming holiday. These frames we made with a combined effort and they turned out beautifully.
