20O8-2009 HIGHLIGHTS

 

State Superintendent of Illinois Schools, Dr. Christopher Koch, visited District 220 schools on Thursday to present the 2009 Academic Excellence Award to nine Barrington schools including BMS-Station Campus. Thursday,May 14th, Station MIddle School 8th Graders enjoyed the 11th annual World War II day. The day included war letters read by re enactors, American GI's, German and British soldiers, Women's Air Service Pilots, Rosie the Riveter and Japanese soldier and a U.S. Marine to illustrate the Pacific Theater. The day concluded with a Station version of a USO/Canteen dance. Music provided by the BHS Jazz Band under the direction of Randy Karon, the 8th grade chorus students and a special appearance of "Station's Andrew Sisters". World War II day photo gallery
7th Grade Civil War Day
On Friday May 8th the seventh graders at Station experienced CIVIL WAR day. The full day has devoted to this annual tradition. We were visited by the Lincoln's, Harriet Tubman, heard battle stories and ended the day with a Civil War style ball.

Station Idol Pep Rally
Station Middle School hosted the first Station Idol contest March 20th. Staff and students performed in front of our own Randy, Kara, Paula and Simon. "Be a Part By Taking Part" in action!!!

Peter S. and Will H. set a new BEAM record of 133 pounds in the Technology Rotation of the Arts and Tech. Program. Congratulations!

7A Boys Basketball Win Colt Classic
The 7A Boys Basketball team defeated Cooper and Thomas on December 12th
and Sundling in the championship game to win the Colt Classic! GREAT JOB!!!!!

The boys team placed 4th at sectionals, and the girls team placed 5th. Becca B. and Craig Z. placed in top going to State competition this weekend. Congratulations!

David Lubar, author of our all-school reads, Hidden Talents and True Talents visited us on October 7.
Performance Accolades
Abbie D. and Ashley K. were selected to perform with the Illinois Music Education Association District 7 Middle School Orchestra--made up of the most outstanding middle school string players in the Northwest Suburbs. Congratulations!
