Dear Parents: Welcome to the Barrington 220 Early Learning Center web page. Our school district preschool program serves 3- to 5-year-old children with special abilities and children identified for the at-risk preschool program. The Barrington 220 Early Learning Center program will move to our new location with an anticipated opening in late August, 2010. The new location for the preschool program is adjacent to the district Prairie Middle School Campus on Dundee Road in Barrington. The Barrington 220 Early Learning Center is a newly constructed school designed to meet the unique needs of our preschool children. The Early Learning staff is anticipating our move this summer with great excitement. Watch the web page for news of our ribbon cutting in August. As the principal of the Early Learning Center and school district Early Childhood coordinator, I am honored to be part of our respected and high-achieving school district in my role as the instructional leader of our preschool program. My background in education includes 25 years as an early childhood special education instructor in a local area school district and five years as the principal/early childhood coordinator for the Barrington 220 Early Learning Center. My staff is composed of teachers who are certified early childhood special education instructors. Specialists who serve the children of our program include speech and language pathologists, social workers, psychologists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists. Our students are also supported by a school nurse, English Language Learner instructors, hearing teacher and vision consultant. Bilingual teachers serve our children who speak Spanish. The education, experience and knowledge of our staff is of an exceptional caliber that serves our preschool students in a supportive and nurturing learning environment.
