Donate School Supplies

Once again, Countryside School is collecting used school supplies for donation.  This year the PTO hopes to fill needs within our school so we will donate needed supplies back to Countryside and the remaining items will go to Barrington Giving Day’s Back to School event.  This year, they are hoping to provide supplies for 250 families in need.  The result is a win for all as children get the school supplies they need, teachers get equipment for their classrooms and many items are diverted from the landfill.

As students clean out their desks, they can donate their used clipboards, scissors, crayons, unused notebook paper, etc.  If you would like your child/children to participate, please have them deposit their donated items in the labeled collection bins that will be placed in each pod.  Collection bins will be available starting Friday, May 26.
Thank you for supporting an effort to reduce waste while helping students and teachers in need.

Please contact Becky Klinghofer at becky.klinghofer@gmail.com with any questions.

2017-2018 Room Parents

Are you interested in being a Countryside Room Parent for the upcoming school year?

If so, please complete the following form and return it to the school office by Friday, May 19. We are always looking for new and returning volunteers!  Room Parent teams collaborate to plan classroom parties, recruit classroom volunteers, welcome new families and support Countryside’s fabulous teaching staff.

Contact PTO Room Parent Coordinators Heidi Doyle heidimdoyle@gmail.com & Kaycee Coles kayceecoles@gmail.com with questions.  Thank you!

FUN RUN HUGE SUCCESS!

Thanks to all the students, teachers, family and friends who came out last Friday for the annual Countryside Cares Club Fun Run. Thanks to all the volunteers who helped behind the scenes to make the run smooth and successful. The Run raised $1,500 which will be donated to the Outdoor Classroom and Bridget's Butterfly Garden in honor of student Bridget Kennicott. Thanks again to all those who participated, donated and volunteered.

THURSDAY MORNING “PACKING” VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR BLESSINGS IN A BACKPACK

Please help make a difference in the lives of our Countryside families in need!

May 18 & May 25 are the last days!!  Please sign up.

Blessings in a Backpack provides students who qualify for the Free and Reduced Lunch program with four to five food items to take home over the weekend.

Packing takes place every Thursday from 9:15 - 10:30am in the multi-purpose room at Sunny Hill School, 2500 Helm Road in Carpentersville.  Volunteers from Countryside are asked to assist each Thursday morning. A driver then brings the sacks to Countryside (all driver spots are filled for the remainder of the school year-- thank you).
“Packing” volunteers are needed to help with this worthwhile cause and make a difference in our community.

AFFECT Family Fun Fair - Friday 5/19 at 4:30 at Countryside School

Join AFFECT for a fun event where every family can be who they are in a judgement-free-zone.  Meet other families from across the district and make lasting connections and friendships.  There will be carnival games, inflatables and popsicles by the playground.

AFFECT is a group of District 220 families and educators working to connect kids with differing abilities across the district.  We aim to bring families, friends and teachers together to provide fun activities for all our kids.
