H.E.R.E Mission: “The H.E.R.E. in Barrington coalition provides Help, Encouragement, Resources and Education to eliminate teen suicide in the Barrington 22community”

H.E.R.E in Barrington  (Help, Encourage, Resources, and Education) is a  community coalition comprised of a passionate board of directors and area residents. With the support of CUSD 220 we are focused on suicide prevention for teens. The Board of Directors is a group of highly skilled individuals who are dedicated to the mission of the organization, and volunteer their time to promote suicide prevention.  H.E.R.E. is the only organization of it’s kind in the Barrington area, and strives to work alongside other organizations to eliminate the stigma associated with mental illness, and strives to create a community where teens and parents feel they can be educated and talk about mental health issues.  H.E.R.E has a Crisis Team of Mental Health Professionals that are prepared to respond in the event of a community crisis with counseling and resources. Several of the Mental Health Professionals and Board of Directors have been trained in Crisis intervention, QPR, Mental Health and Youth Mental Health First Aid.  H.E.R.E. does not provide mental health services, but acts as a support to the community and organizations who  provide mental health services. H.E.R.E. has a high school Student Board of Directors, and is an Erika’s Lighthouse Chapter.  H.E.R.E. works alongside the high school student board to help them promote the work and services of Erika’s Lighthouse, and supports them in promoting mental health through out CUSD 220 and the Barrington Community.
