Bus Transportation

Bus service is provided to all Rose students by the Barrington Transportation
Company, 847-381-1043.
Parents of PM kindergarten students are expected to call the bus company if their child will not be riding the kindergarten bus to school. School must also be called if the child will not be attending school.
Only in case of emergency are children allowed to switch buses. In such cases, a note to the bus driver is needed or a phone call to the school if your child is to get off at a stop different from his regular stop.
Barrington Transportation Company is an independent provider. Although the school would like to be made aware of any major grievances, any problems or concerns should be handled with the bus company. Grievance forms are available in Rose's main office to convey any problems to the company in written form.
Information Sharing and Required Notes
Any immediate questions regarding
the school or your child can be directed to the main office (847-844-1200)

Parking Lot Procedure
Please drop your children off between the lobby and the Kindergarten playground no earlier than 8:45 a.m. Children should walk outside to the back playground. If you need to walk your child into the building, please park in a designated spot and walk your child across the cross-walk. Do not park in the drop-off lane.
Please remain in your car for after school pick-up. Upon entering the parking lot, immediately bear right into the pick-up lane. Remain in your car until you come to the front entrance and your child’s name is called. To assist school staff, parents are encouraged to place a sign with their child’s last name in the front right windshield. Once your child is in the car, please pull straight out past the Kindergarten playground. Please observe all lines and signage in the parking lot.
Recess & Inclement
Weather
Students are expected to go outside every day for recess. Recess will be held indoors when it's raining or severely cold (policy states below 0 degrees temperature or wind chill factor). Please dress your child appropriately. Teacher aides provide playground supervision.
Students will not be allowed to stay inside on an individual basis as there is NO supervision for these children. If children are well enough to come to school, they are well enough to go outside for fresh air and exercise.
Students should be dropped off NO EARLIER than 8:45 AM. Children are to report to the playground for a short recess before school begins. Students are not to be in the building before school unless a teacher has requested their presence.
Toys,
Cell Phones & Electronics
Games, electronic devices and other distracting toys are not permitted at school. Cell phones must be turned off and kept in the student’s locker.
Vacations/Doctor Appointments
It is highly recommended that vacations be taken during non school time only. Teachers are not required to provide teaching materials/homework for those who choose to vacation during school. There is no substitute for a student participating in the classroom environment.
Students are required to be at school during regular school hours. If possible, set doctor/dentist appointments for after school hours.
Visitors/Volunteers
Please feel welcome at Rose School. When volunteering or visiting, you must check in at the office, present your driver’s license or state ID and obtain an identification badge.
