December, 2009

The WHO Club wrapped presents for the Barrington-Area Adopt-A-Family fundraiser (gifts purchased by the special education teachers of BMS-Prairie and WHO Club).  We wrapped gifts for two families so that their holidays will be filled with joy and happiness.  Way to go, team!

November, 2009

The WHO Club made Flower Pens at the past meeting.  It was tough, but we ended up making about 40 pens!  The pens were sold to the teachers of BMS-Prairie.  The money earned was donated to the Barrington-Area Adopt-A-Family fund raiser (Jewel Gift Card)

October, 2009

The WHO Club made activity boxes for students with autism.  The boxes were delivered to the school, PACTT Learning Center, and have been used with the speech pathologist.

March, 2009

WHO Club's Spring 2009 campaign -- Animal Shelters Need our Help!

The WHO Club ran a campaign to raise awareness for animal rights.  We asked interested advisories to create a poster that illustrated how they planned on "helping spread the word on animal rights" in 2009.  The WHO Club members voted on the best poster.  This poster contest took place the week of March 2-6, but we extended it to the following week (March 9-12).   The poster contest winners were:

FIRST PLACE:  Ms. Ullrich Sherman's advisory (8th grade)

SECOND PLACE:  Mrs. Aliperta's advisory (6th grade)

THIRD PLACE:  Ms. Shike's advisory (7th grade)

***Each winner received cookies from Trader Joe's.
