Jazz Band/Pep Band
The Barrington Middle School band department offers students the opportunity to participate in an instrumental program dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in music through performance.
While band and orchestra are graded classes that meet during the school day, there are additional outlets in which experienced musicians can express themselves and use their talents. The band program offers Pep Band, Jazz Band and Percussion Experience as after school music activities.
The Jazz Band is a select group of approximately 20-25 musicians chosen by audition which plays popular, rock, jazz, and big band selections. The organization is comprised of saxes, trumpets, trombones and a rhythm section. Performances include middle school concerts and may include other "gigs" such as banquets and community functions.
The Pep Band plays for the Barrington Middle School Basketball games and is open to all interested Symphonic Band members.
