4th Quarter BMS Pride Winners
Julius S
6th Grade

Since the very first day of 6th grade, Julius has demonstrated a desire to learn. In addition to being a good listener, Julius shows leadership in small group work and participates in class discussions. He has made tremendous strides in his writing and test scores. Julius is also involved in extracurricular activities including wrestling and track. Mrs. Diamond and Mrs. Reckamp are very proud of the accomplishments Julius has made this school year.

McKenzie S.
6th Grade

McKenzie S. is most deserving of the Prairie Pride Award. She is an exemplary student and she consistently demonstrates that she also possesses the highest character. Her drive to succeed and willingness to do whatever it takes to help others succeed are just two qualities that make McKenzie truly spectacular. It has been an absolute pleasure to have McKenzie on the K Team this year, though we are very proud of the young lady we are sending on to some very lucky 7th grade teachers. We are excited to see and hear all of McKenzie’s accomplishments which await her in the coming years!

Katie T.
6th Grade

Katie is an extremely hard worker. She consistently goes above and beyond with everything she does. Even with the smallest of tasks, she puts forth 150%. Katie is always looking to lead her peers. As teachers we can count on Katie to take charge of a situation and make sure that the work gets done well. She is very driven and her work ethic is contagious to those around her. Katie’s humor and good spirits are obvious every day as she is rarely without a smile! She is very caring and compassionate and gets along with anyone. We look forward to watching Katie become a leader of this school!

John M.
6th Grade

John is the kind of student of which every teacher wishes they had more. He is strong academically and shows leadership in all his classes. John is always positive both in and out of the classroom and is often seen cheering on his fellow teammates. His ability to get along with anyone, teachers and peers, is seen everyday. John’s love for learning and desire to do better all the time is evident everyday. We think John might have the history channel’s lineup memorized since he seems to know more about ancient studies than his teachers. John’s passion for learning has made a memorable impression on our entire team!

Catie O.
6th Grade

Catie O. shows good character every day! She is a caring, faithful friend to everyone on the 6E team. She takes initiative in helping other students. Catie asks probing questions which contribute to the quality of classroom discussions. A natural born leader with a variety of interests in school and outside of school, Catie is always on top of her work and puts 110% into everything she does.

Laura Areola
7th Grade

Laura is not unlike other Pride winners in her work ethic and her kind nature. But, she is unique in her humble ways. She never prides herself and is even a bit shy about taking complements. But, I am happy she is part of our team because she is a great model for others to be a good person everyday in everyway
Peter L.
7th Grade

Peter can best be described as a humble star that shines even when no one is watching. Peter maintains high personal and academic standards. In the face of those who do not possess the kindness that Peter does, he is never defiant. Peter "shows" rather than "tells" by his high standards and meritable actions. It is a pleasure to see Peter's level of maturity and kindness in a young man.

Ryan F.
7th Grade

Ryan F. is a member of the 7B Team this year and we couldn’t be prouder of him!. Ryan’s work ethic is unparalleled and he always gives 110% effort in every class. On top of that, he is a kind, conscientious, respectful person to all who know him. Outside of Prairie, Ryan is a member of both a football and a baseball team and he enjoys traveling with his family. If we had a citizenship award to give, Ryan would qualify. There are few students we know who start each day with a smile and end each teacher’s day with that same smile. Now that’s what we call a positive attitude!! What the 7 B Team wants to know is can we keep students for two years??

Jessica D.
7th Grade

Without a doubt, Jessica is worthy of the Prairie Pride Award. She starts every day on a positive note with her beautiful smile. Have we ever had a problem with Jessica not finishing homework or studying for a test? Never! She is in chorus and basketball and a real asset to our school. Any one of her teachers can count on her to help another student or to take the lead in a group situation. We will miss her next year, but knowing Jessica, she will still stop by say hi.

Victor D.
7th Grade

Victor has made excellent growth this school year. Towards the end of second quarter he changed history classes because he was consistently scoring 95% or higher on class work. In his new history class he has continued to excel earning As every quarter. He is very diligent in his work ethic, seeks help when needed, and always comes to class prepared. His excellence in history is also apparent in all other academic classes. Victor is a phenomenal student who makes teaching a joy each and every day.

Austin R.
7th Grade

Austin is a very kind and hard working student. Austin is always willing to help other students with their learning. She greets every person with a warm and friendly smile. All year she has come to all classes prepared and ready to learn. She always tries her best and seeks extra help when needed. She has put in an extraordinary amount of effort in English and Spanish and has earned As in both classes. Austin’s dedication is a standard all students should aspire to achieve.

Emily G.
8th Grade

Emily is a great asset to the 8A team and the building because she simply leads by example everywhere she goes. She consistently participates in class and is always willing to take on a challenge. She took her NJHS hours quite seriously and assisted multiple teachers with extra tasks. She never hesitates either to help others or to care for others around her. Along with her academic strengths, Emily contributed to the school through NJHS, being on Prairie’s soccer team, among other activities. Emily always exudes an abundance of politeness to both teachers and students. Emily is a great example of when a student demonstrates trustworthiness, respect, citizenship, responsibility, fairness, and caring.

Julia T.
8th Grade

Julia has been a kind and respectful student to all of her teachers and classmates since the first day of school. She exemplifies respect through politeness to everyone she comes in contact with. She always has a smile on her face and demonstrates her caring for others by helping a student who has dropped his/her books or even taking extra notes for a student who is absent. Julia contributes to the 8A team and the school through NJHS and volleyball along with her academic success. She can be counted on to make positive decisions and always leads by example. Julia is a great example of when a student demonstrates trustworthiness, respect, citizenship, responsibility, fairness, and caring.

Maddie L.
8th Grade

It has been a pleasure to know a high quality person like Maddie L. She is cooperative, helpful and always willing to work as a team player in any situation.
Through my interaction with Maddie, it is evident that she has a passion for the Humanities. She has excitedly worked with all of her peers to great success, an affirmation of her ability to relate to, support and encourage others to give their best effort toward a common goal. Though I have known Maddie only a short three years, it is evident that she is aware of the importance of balance between academics and extra-curricular activities. Maddie is a smart, busy, talented girl who displays all of the pillars of character not because she wants this award, specifically, but because that is just who she is.

Kruti P.
8th Grade
Kruti was a welcomed addition to my class this year! She pays close attention to detail in her work and has been highly dependable. Her relationships with teachers and peers in the building are outstanding. Through my interaction with Kruti, it is clear that she carefully considers many perspectives as she develops her views and opinions--a quality that shows she is an active thinker, a good listener and an educated observer of rhetoric and relationships alike. Kruti expertly handles the balance between academics and extra-curricular activities. She is cooperative, helpful, respectful, and kind. Kruti P. is a girl of great intelligence, character and integrity which deserves recognition.
Thomas N.
8th Grade

Tomas N. has a demeanor that is well respected among C team students and teachers alike. When given tasks to complete, Tomas does so to the best of his ability. His smile radiates and is a reminder to us all to enjoy our days here at Prairie. He will surely be missed on the C team as heads off to B.H.S.

Charlotte G.
8th Grade

Charlotte G. brings a cheerful heart to the C team. Her positive energy is contagious. For this reason C team teachers often encourage her to be in leadership roles so that other students may emulate her. Charlotte is not afraid to voice her opinions in classroom discussions. These opinions often reflect a maturity beyond her years.
