Course Description:

A tier 2 intervention on the RtI framework for students howing a need for further English support. This class will provide an additional support for struggling students. Improvement of English skills will be made by placing emphasis on the reading adn writing process.

Enduring Understandings:

1) The insightful use of language shapes our awareness of ourselves and others.

2) The imaginative use of language, ideas, and communication inspires and empowers us.
3) Students will be able to connect ideas represnted in class with other content written criteria.

Essential Questions:

1) Why is the ability to communicate essential through reading?

2) Why is the ability to communicate essential through writing?

3) Why is the ability to communicate essential through speaking?

4) How can what we write impact others?

5) When does writing need to be grammatically correct?

6) What are the important components to good writing?

Course Academic Vocabulary:
