A History of Arnett C. Lines Elementary
Arnett C. Lines School is located in the Village of Barrington. The school opened in September of 1969. The school is named after a lifelong Barrington resident who gave 70 years of his life to the Barrington community. In the early years of our school, Mr. Lines enjoyed coming to the school and visiting the students. We are extremely proud to bear his name. In the spring and summer of 1999, the existing school underwent extensive renovations plus the addition of 14 classrooms and a two-station gym.
The school is dedicated to creating and maintaining a child-centered atmosphere. The staff believes that it is very important to provide a warm, secure, and caring environment for students. This was recognized in 1994 and again in 2008 by the United States Department of Education with the Blue Ribbon for Excellence in Education Award.
