Board
Of Education
The District is governed by
a School Board consisting of seven members. The Board’s
powers and duties include the authority to adopt, enforce,
and monitor all policies for the management and
governance of the District’s schools.
Official action by the School Board may only occur at a
duly called and legally conducted meeting at which a quorum
is physically present. School Board members, as individuals,
have no authority over school affairs, except as provided by
law or as authorized by the Board.
Board Meetings
All regular Board of Education meetings begin with a
Closed Session at 6:00 p.m. immediately followed by
Open Session
at 7:00 p.m. All Open Session meetings take place in
the Guidance Resource Center at Barrington High School,
616 West Main Street, Barrington, Illinois. Any changes
in date, time, or location will be noted in advance
of meeting.
Committees

An Enrollment Monitoring Committee
(EMC) has been established by the District 220
School Board. The EMC will monitor enrollment at
the district's
schools and develop redistricting recommendations
as necessary to minimize overcrowding in schools.
