Guidance and Counseling Department

The Barrington High School Guidance and Counseling Department works as a team to offer information and advisement that enables students to choose and coordinate the most positive, appropriate and productive course of study. Counselors network with parents, teachers, deans, psychologists and other school personnel to foster student growth and enhance the quality of the high school experience.
As student advocates, counselors strive to encourage each student to explore and evaluate choices that will expand his/her unique opportunities, while avoiding decisions that may hinder or limit future options. The guidance and counseling team is committed to the recognition and acceptance of the ever-changing needs of the student population and to continuously assess and adapt programs to meet such needs.
Our focus, through mutual respect and consideration, is to help students attain individual goals, as well as, fostering their commitment to the general good of society in our diverse and evolving global community.
